Dr. Glydwell grew up in Northern Iowa and joined the army at the age of 17 as a Medic. After 10 years he was selected for the Army's enlisted commission program to become a registered nurse. He was accepted to the nursing program at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee. It is here that he met his wife of 17 years, Candice Glydwell.
After graduation from Austin Peay, Dr. Glydwell served at Tripler Army Medical Center in Hawaii with focus on Telemetry and Perioperative nursing. After three years of serving as nursing officer in the Army he transferred to the Surgeon General's office and joined the United States Public Health Service. During his Public Health Service Commission, he served with the Indian Health Services for 13 years and rose to the rank of Commander prior to retiring in 2021. It was during this time that he obtained his Master of Nursing (Concentration of Family Nurse Practitioner) from Austin Peay in 2013 and his Doctor of Nursing from the University of Oklahoma in 2018. For the last three years before joining CovenantCare he continued his last assignment at the Meskwaki Tribal Clinic in Tama, Iowa.
Dr. Glydwell returned to Clarksville drawn to the middle Tennessee area and to be closer to family after serving. He and his wife Candice have two boys. His hobbies include raising chickens, fishing, hunting, and setting up his home theater system. He looks forward to serving his community here at CovenantCare.
