David W. Johnson, MD

Dr. David Johnson's contribution to CovenantCare includes a wealth of Family Medicine experience and administration spanning 35 years. Dr. Johnson was born and raised in Virginia. He attended Malone College, graduating Magna cum Laude in Pre-med and went on to Medical School in Richmond, Virginia. His early practice years included full family practice, and later emergency medicine.

He gained much of his medical experience in North Carolina before coming to Tennessee in 2013, and he joined CovenantCare Hilldale in December 2016. The long arc of his career means patients of every age — children, working adults, and seniors managing complex chronic conditions — find a familiar face and a steady hand at Hilldale. His practice spans the full range of family medicine: primary care, preventive visits, chronic-disease management, women's health, pediatric wellness, and routine in-office procedures.

He enjoys quartet music, studying how to translate his Christian faith into all aspects of life, and seeks to be a light in a world of darkness.
